Well, after a couple weeks of feeling down on myself, I came up with a solution. Every night as we go over what we did and before planning the next day, I write down a miracle that I saw during the course of our day. And I can testify that that act alone will brighten any blue soul.
Let me share a few :)
Last week, one of our investigators told us that she wouldn't be able to meet with us more because the leaders of her church had instructed her not to. This broke our hearts, but we had hope still because we felt that she was prepared to hear the gospel. So this Tuesday and Wednesday we decided to fast that she would be able to understand God's will for her. Wednesday when we ended, we decided to take a pie to her and her family seeing as her husband had been in the hospital. When we went to her house she wasn't there but we left the pie in the hands of her daughter, who looked very happy to receive it :) later that night as we were in route to our little house her husband called out to us from where he was. As we were chatting with him, out walks Alicia (our investigator) who smiled as bright as the sun when she saw us. She invited us in and told us that she felt like a church that had told her something like that wasn't where she needed to be and that she felt like she needed to continue listening to us. I have never seen a prayer or fast answered so quickly and it was something amazing! I really do know that our Heavenly Father loves us, listens to us and answers our prayers when they are in accordance with His will. I know that this gospel is truly His and that it is what each and every one of us needs in our lives.
The next day, also later in the evening we were contacting (knocking, or clapping rather, doors) and began to chat with a young couple outside of their house. We had a brief lesson about how Heavenly Father has a plan for us and how part of that plan is that we can be with our families for the eternites, not only in this life. As we ended, Gabriel, the husband immediately set a date and time for us to come back! I've never had that happen, we always have to ask when we can return! But, when you feel the Spirit testifying of eternal truths, you get hungry to hear more!
The next day was Friday. And every Friday here in Chos Malal we do an activity at the church to help our investigators get comfortable coming and to help them meet the members and all that. Miracle on Friday, Hna Huisar and I had 4 investigators come and a member that lives in our area who never gets to come! And they all loved the activity and want to come back next Friday!
Next day, Saturday. We are visiting an investigator who lives in front of the camping grounds and someone camping came over to see if they had some food (they sell food to the campers). He greeted us and chatted a tiny bit and as he left, he mentioned something and clued us in on the fact that he was a member! So we called him back and he joined in on the lesson and shared his testimony! Hermano Morales is his name and he is from Santiago Chile!
As you can see, this week was full of miracles! I invite all of you to do the same and look for a miracle in every day. They are all around us, we just need to open our eyes to see them.
I hope everyone is happy and healthy and if there is anything I can do for you from this side of the world, let me know :)
Love,
Hermana Christensen
